IF YOUR IDEA OF A QUIET RELAXING HOLIDAY IS LAZING AROUND A POOL, THERE ARE PLENTY TO CHOICE FROM. MANY OFFER FREE SUNBEDS AND EVERYBODY IS WELCOME.

THIS POOL CAN BE FOUND AT THE ANASTASIA APARTMENTS, WHERE YOU WILL BE WARMLY GREETED BY YOUR HOSTS SPIRO AND TAKIS.

The northen end of the resort, bars, tavernas and shops sit side by side, a main sandy beach, a couple of small (rocky) beaches and the harbour.

Moving south 400-600 metres, things are much more spread out, with areas of open land between shops and restaurants - it is this area that contains the second beach. Known as golden beach.

IS THERE A CASH MACHINE IN ST. GEORGE ?

YES THERE ARE TWO TOWARDS THE NORTH END OF THE RESORT ON THE BEACH SIDE OPPOSITE HECTORS SUPERMARKET AND AT ANNAS SUPERMARKET OPPOSITE TZEVENOS

ARE THERE PAYPHONES IN THE RESORT ?

YES SEVERAL SPACED OUT ALONG THE MAIN ROAD, YOU CAN BUY PHONE CARDS FROM ANY SUPERMARKET FROM 5 EUROS.

ARE THE BEACHES CHILD FRIENDLY ?

YES ISSOS BEACH IS VERY SHALLOW AND SANDY, GOLDEN BEACH CAN HAVE VERY HIGH TIDES AND VERY STRONG CURRANTS.

WHERE CAN WE EAT ?

THERE ARE ENDLESS TAVERNAS AND RESTAURANTS ALONG THE MAIN ROAD. START AT ONE END OF THE RESORT AND WORK YOUR WAY DOWN, YOU COULD EAT IN A DIFFERENT RESTAURANT EACH NIGHT OR YOU WILL SOON "GET ATTACHED" TO ONE.

WHAT ABOUT THE WILDLIFE :

TO THE NORTH OF THE RESORT, ACROSS THE SAND DUNES LAKE KORISSION CAN BE FOUND, A HUGE INLAND LAKE, A HAVEN FOR WILDLIFE ,ESPECIALLY IN THE SPRING AND AUTUMN WHEN IT TEEMS WITH MIGRATORY BIRDS.

HOWEVER, THE DAMP GROUND AROUND THE LAKE TENDS TO ATTRACT SNAKES OF VARIOUS SIZES SO A GOOD PAIR OF STRONG WALKING BOOTS ARE A MUST (LEAVE THE FLIP FLOPS AT HOME)

TAKE PLENTY OF WATER WITH YOU AS THERE ARE NO TAVERNAS NEAR THE LAKE.

ARE DRINKS EXPENSIVE ?

IN GENERAL MOST BARS,TAVERNAS AND RESTAURANTS CHARGE ABOUT THE SAME FOR DRINKS.

HOWEVER, KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR "HAPPY HOURS" THESE TEND TO GO ON MOST OF THE NIGHT AND CAN

SAVE YOU LOTS. AS A ROUGH GUIDE: LARGE DRAUGHT MYTHOS 2.50 - 3 EURO BOTTLE BEER 2 EURO

IMPORTED BEERS AND SPIRITS CAN BE EXPENSIVE, A LARGE DRAUGHT GUINNESS COULD COST UP TO 5 OR 6 EURO.

You will not find any multi story shopping centers in the resort.

THERE ARE SEVERAL SUPERMARKETS THROUGHOUT THE RESORT SELLING EVERYTHING YOU COULD WISH FOR. THE LARGEST AND MOST ESTABLISHED ONES ARE STAMATIS, ESPERANDO AND HECTORS SUPERMARKET.

CAN I USE ANY POOL IN THE RESORT ?

YES MOST POOLS OFFER FREE SUNBEDS AND BAR FACILITIES.

This is not a large resort, but there are plenty of supermarkets and gift shops plus a cash point machine".

St George is a very laid back resort, suitable for couples and families, however may not be suitable for those seeking an energetic night life. The lively resort of Kavos though is only a 20 minute taxi ride away.
